Starting Position: Feet shoulder-width apart, buttocks and back pressed against the seat, knee pit and lower leg pressed against the cushion. Maintain good spinal alignment throughout the movement (engage the core, retract and depress the shoulder blades, keep the back straight, and tuck the chin). Eyes looking straight ahead, hands gripping the handles, and maintain 90-degree dorsiflexion at the ankle.
Range of Motion: Move upward until the lower leg is nearly parallel to the ground (slight flexion), then return to the starting position.
