Since the founding of EZ66 in 2007, it has been nearly three years, during which time many media outlets have interviewed us, and schools have come for visits. I have also been invited to speak at many universities. The concept of "Live Happily, Forget Age" that we advocate for is gradually being promoted, and more and more people are looking to enter the silver hair industry. With everyone's help, the silver hair industry appears to have limitless opportunities and is slowly gaining more attention from the public.
For Taiwan's elderly, this is a good thing, as it shows that more people are starting to care about them. However, my concern is that many only see the "business opportunity" and fail to see the "silver hair" – in simple terms, they are just looking to make money off the elderly rather than addressing their actual needs.

With the aging society approaching, have you or your business prepared for it? Many people are just looking to make money from the elderly but haven’t thought about how to provide them with appropriate services.
Do you know how to serve elderly customers? Do you know how to assist elderly customers with limited mobility when getting on and off vehicles? How should you communicate with elderly customers who have hearing impairments? How can you assist customers who use wheelchairs?

Imagine a store beloved by elderly shoppers. Soft lighting, spacious aisles, low shelves that are easy to reach, and large fonts on product descriptions. The store offers shopping carts for assistance in walking, sells many lifestyle items suitable for seniors, and, most importantly, the staff is willing to engage in friendly conversations with elderly customers. Community seniors frequently visit, share information, enjoy health-conscious meals that are easy to chew and digest, or schedule time for exclusive fitness classes in an attached rhythm room.
This is not just a dream. In Japan, there are convenience stores primarily designed for seniors, and in Taiwan, the "EZ66" platform, starting with its website and now with two physical locations, is outlining a vision for future stores like the one described above. These stores are definitely not "survival stores" focused on medical equipment—places where consumers only go out of necessity—but rather welcoming environments designed with elderly people in mind.

Recently, university admissions have been announced, with nearly a 100% acceptance rate and extremely low cut-off scores. While we lament the failure of educational reforms and worry about the potential closure of universities, could there be a more proactive approach to prevent wasting societal resources and revitalize community assets?
The trend of declining birth rates is irreversible. In the future, there will be fewer and fewer students applying for university. If universities continue to focus primarily on recruiting high school graduates, hoping to attract students with high scholarships or raising minimum admission scores to maintain a certain quality of enrollment, we can foresee that more departments and universities will face the dilemma of not being able to recruit students next year.

Recently, the National Development Council released the latest national population projection report. Director of the Human Resource Planning Department, Chen Shih-Chang, stated that in seven years, by 2017, the population of people aged 65 and above will account for 14% of Taiwan's total population, officially marking Taiwan's entry into what is internationally referred to as an "Aging Society." By 2025, Taiwan will transition into a "Super-Aged Society," and in 50 years, the elderly population will make up 42% of the total population.
This report has sparked many media outlets to focus on the issues of low birth rates and an aging population, resulting in a series of reports and commentaries. As a result, I have been interviewed by several media outlets, including CtiTV, CTS, Videoland, and NextTV, to discuss "Silver Hair Products for an Aging Society."
